Measurement accuracy
Realform's floor plans, dimensions, and measurements are estimates generated from your device's LiDAR and camera sensors. Under good conditions they are typically accurate to within about ±5 cm (roughly 2 inches), but real-world results vary with lighting, surface materials (such as glass and mirrors), room size, and device model — and deviations can be larger.

Which iPhones and iPads work with Realform?
Realform needs a LiDAR Scanner: an iPhone 12 Pro or any later Pro or Pro Max model, or an iPad Pro from 2020 or later, running iOS 18 or later. Room and building scans work on every LiDAR iPad Pro; object and person scans on iPad need an iPad Pro with an M1 chip or later. On devices without LiDAR, Realform tells you that scanning isn't available.
Can I scan an object with my iPhone and 3D print it?
Yes. Walk around the object to capture it, tidy the model in the built-in editor (crop, trim, fill holes), check that it's watertight, then export STL or 3MF for free — ready for slicers like PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and Cura.
Is Realform free? Is there a subscription?
There's no subscription. Scanning, editing, measuring, PNG floor plans and USDZ, STL and 3MF export are free, with ads. Realform Pro is a one-time $19.99 purchase that adds OBJ, GLB and PLY export plus PDF, SVG and DXF floor plans, and removes ads. You can also watch a short ad to unlock a single Pro export.
Does Realform upload my scans to the cloud?
No. Every scan is processed on your device, with no account and no cloud. The app only sends a few anonymous usage counts, such as which export format was used — never your scans or photos.
Can Realform make a floor plan of a room or a whole house?
Yes. Scan a room, or a whole building room by room, and Realform builds a dimensioned floor plan with walls, doors, windows and furniture. Export it as PNG for free, or as PDF, SVG or DXF (for AutoCAD and other CAD tools) with Realform Pro. Measurements are estimates — typically within about ±5 cm — and not survey-grade.
What file formats can Realform export?
3D models: USDZ, STL and 3MF (free), plus OBJ, GLB and PLY (Realform Pro). Floor plans: PNG (free), plus PDF, SVG and DXF (Realform Pro).
